Loved it. However, puns would have made it more dogmatic. This only sniffs at punny and is a little rough around the edges. I hope to spot more in part 2!
Hey Mike! I’ve been a fan of yours since the Hang Up and Listen days. It would be awesome for you to revive the sports commentary since it’s usually not a topic on the Gist so maybe easier to differentiate your Substack posts from the podcast. I don’t know of many Substacks outside of House of Strauss that really cover sports in general. There’s targeted podcasts for big sports like football, soccer and basketball, but some of my favorite segments from Hang Up and Listen were things like bull riding and America’s Cup sailing. But also I always just enjoyed your commentary and with the sports media consistently downsizing, it’s harder to find good analysis of sports topics online anymore.
I'd love to do a sports show if there's a market for it. It's hard to tell what there is a market for / if the paid v ad model works best / How to differentiate such a project from my current ones etc...But I appreciate the suggestion, and it did prompt some strategizing on my end.
Thanks for the reply, and that makes a lot of sense! I've been enjoying your Substack posts and obviously the podcast. Look forward to seeing/hearing any future plans you have in the works!
Very interested in McWaffles cabinet appointments. Will he reach across the squirrel/cat divide? What breed will he choose for Secretary of Defense who may indeed loose the dogs of war?
A dog as president would be worth it if for no other reason than the optics during that annual "pardoning of the Thanksgiving Turkey" ceremony.

"I did not hump that leg!"
Thanks
I await the future part in which we meet the spouse of the new president, the First [expletive deleted].
Interesting. But he is neutered. No pups.
Spouse, not progeny.
And with regard to being a civic but not a biological sire, he would be in good company – particularly with respect to Polk!
