The hardest part of remaining open minded about assertions regarding Joe Biden's efforts to help his son's business dealings is the inevitable (and insanely reasonable) "whatabout" regarding Donald Trump. If Joe Biden is impeached based on the evidence we have before us; and if the Democrats take the house in 2025; and if Donald Trump is elected (God help us all), then I would fully expect an immediate impeachment of the man whose term in office made a rich, rich, rich person of many of his family members (including two sons).

While reading the preceding paragraphs of the essay, I strained against a "But...but...but" impulse.

One expects that in the next essay Mike will make clear that both the "Probable" and "Plausible" buckets represent inversions of reality. As vice president, Biden acted solely in the national interest, unmoved in any direction by consideration of his son's interest.
