Shameful, nauseating - just really hard to watch if you are a patriotic American who knows that the US, for all of its faults and blunders, has for the most part been a force for good in the world these past hundred years. I never followed Wrestlemania, but is there a particular “face” or “heel” that demands fealty and obsequence? What a gift to Putin. What a shameful shit show for the world to see.
While I’ve been doing fairly well at a personal level of maintaining my equilibrium and not over reacting to the nightmare of this administration, yesterday’s events have outraged me. Trump and Vance behaved horrendously and, moreover, the policy shift of this administration has put the whole world at risk. And, that’s before we even talk about their obvious imperialist intentions!
Please write to your senators and representatives about this. I like many of you was physically sickened by watching this embarrassment, and very much felt the need to do something. We the American people very much need to step up here and reel in the executive. The text of my letter to senators if that helps...

The core value of America is a belief in freedom and an opposition to tyranny. These were the values the country was founded on, and the values that countless Americans have given their lives for over the years. Today I watched our government betray those American values on national television in a disgusting display of whining cowardice unbecoming of the leader of the free world. It was embarrassing. I call on you Senator XXX to rally the senate to the defense of Ukraine and the defense of freedom. If Ukraine falls it’s only a matter of time before Russia invades its neighbors to re-establish the USSR. This is our Sudetenland moment. Pres. Trump’s calls for “peace in our times” are transparently ignorant and are paving the way toward World War III. America needs you to steer us from this path of blatant appeasement. Please don’t let us down."
