I’ll be going LIVE on Substack with
tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET. She is the author of seven books, most recently The Catastrophe Hour: Selected Essays, unrelated to her current catastrophe of losing her house in the Los Angeles fires, which you can listen to her dispatches about here. She is also the host of The Unspeakable Podcast and founder of The Unspeakeasy.Add it to your calendar:
New York City Event
Not only will I be going live with her, but I will also be speaking at her upcoming retreat, Unspeakeasy in New York City: A Small Gathering for Big Ideas. It’s a weekend-long event hosted by The Unspeakeasy—a free-speech retreat series founded by Meghan Daum. This event takes place October 11–12 in a private Soho location and features intimate, off-the-record conversations with an incredible lineup of independent thinkers, including myself, John McWhorter, Rob Henderson, Carole Hooven, Alana Newhouse, Peter Moskos, Andrew Hartz, Lisa Selin Davis, and Ben Appel. Instead of formal panels and queues of people saying “this is more of a comment than a question…” expect real dialogue and thoughtful company. A great lunch is included, and no recordings or social media are allowed. Just real people, real ideas, and real conversations.
Better yet, she has offered a coupon code for $700 off the retreat price: PESCA1800
